      Again, the southern hemishere is produing much better swells then last season norths. It seems as if maybe global is starting the storm patterns.

      Small southwest swell and onshore conditions today. The cold current pattern is still full flux and is creating overcast conditions and lousy surf. 
      The south swell season is looking a lot stronger then last years northwest season whihc was the worst in the last 15 years that I can remember.

We decided to look for bigger surf today and we found it at a secret spot north
of montanita. I will let the photo do the talking.

      The long term shows a continued pattern of south west swells and hot sunny
weather. The onshores winds do not start until about may 1st. Then may through
december is onshore rainy and in general a bad place to hang out and surf.

      The Longterm surf report shows a weak southwest swell arriving on the 24th. We
have had avery active southern hemisphere this year and not as many norths as
we expected, but overall it was a great year once it got started.

      The long term surf perdiction for ecuador shows a continuing pattern of southwest swells mixed with norths through until the end of march and then solid southwest swells and good conditions during the month of april.

      There was a great north swell that came through a little over a week ago, and since then conditions have been variable.  Swell directions have been mixed up, but there are still chest to head high sets if you are patient.
The Latin Pro Surf Contest finished today with a Peruvian winning the championship.
      Carnival has drawn to a close and the flood of people that invaded Montanita have begun to trickle away.
It was mayhem in the streets downtown, but a bit more easy going out at the point where La Casa Del Sol is.
