Ecuador and Northern Peru Surfing Package

Location

Northern Peru is only two hours from the airport in Guayaquil Ecuador and has some of the best waves in South America. From November until the end of April North swells pound the coast of Peru and Ecuador. Glassy conditions with off shore winds in the morning are normal and hot warm weather during the day. This 14 day tour offers the best of both worlds: Ecuador with its tropical backdrops and glassy barrels and Peru with its strong offshore winds and desert like conditions. 

Weather & Waves

Ecuador and Northern Peru are very good during the north swell season. The water is warm and no wetsuit is required in either Northern Peru or Ecuador. However, during early morning hours in Peru it would be nice to have a vest or spring suit.  Both Peru and Ecuador have great surf spots which include beach breaks, reefs, and points. The waves can be big and dangerous or they can soft and playful depending on the swell size, direction and the surfing area. Two boards are recommended, one for large hollow days and another for smaller days. There are many long boarding spots as well. Beginners as well as advanced surfers will be very happy with this tour since it covers a large variety of surfing spots. Depending on the level of the surfers your guide will take you to best spots for your level.

Accommodation & Transportation:

You will arrive in Guayaquil Ecuador and will transported in an air conditioned 4×4 truck to Hotel La Casa Del Sol, Montanita.  You will stay at the La Casa Del Sol for seven days as your home base. Your rooms are located right in front of the wave in Montanita and have hot water, fans and mosquito netting.  La Casa Del Sol has been working in surf travel for ten years in the region and has an excellent reputation.

After arrival your guide will take you the best spots in Ecuador depending on local conditions. You will visit Rio Chico, Puerto Cayo, San Mateo, Rinconada, Playa Bruja, Mompiche and others. After seven days of surfing the Ecuadorian Coast you will leave for Northern Peru. From Montanita you will head toward Guayaquil have a small tour of the city and or nightlife. You will sleep in Guayaquil at The Dreamcapture Inn and leave early in the Morning for Tumbes, located on the border of Peru Ecuador. This is a two hour trip to the border and then another 45 minutes to the small Peruvian town of Mancora. 

Mancora is a very nice Peruvian beach town, similar to Montanita, with a very good left hand surf break in front of the hotel. Here you will stay at Hotel Del Wa ñWa for seven nights.  Close to your hotel there are a variety of breaks some of which include: Mancora, Cabo Blanco, Punta Sal, Lobitos, El Hueco, and Los Organos.
